You know I always thought was stupid?

When you kill things, money drops, then when you loot it, it says of course the gold was scattered throughout your group. If they have no purpose, but to follow you around be your best bud for a few minutes, a few hours during PVE, then you say bye bye to them after. Whats the point of them getting gold, they can't really use it.

Although I'm sure the economy would be different in GW if you DID get all the gold, but I seriously never understood why they get a few bucks out of the loot out of the corpse. I not just DIDN'T notice this, but you know, just wanted to express my thoughts

For following you around they're payed but taking a share of the loot.

Thats exactly the point of them taking a share of the loot.

If they didnt, there would be way too much money and items in the game.

Henches work kind of like merchants/traders.

You're supposed to play with other characters. That's why they get a share of the loot, since players would if they were actually there.

Henchmen were originally just supposed to fill out parties when other players weren't around. Not like it is now...

If you want all the loot and all the gold then go out by yourself and kill the monsters by yourself.

If you are not capable of that then hire a henchman to help you. The key word there is "hire".

Riddle me this: If the henchmen didn't get money or a percentage of the drops, what would be the point of ever trying to solo?

Basically, if you want a completely broken game, this is a good idea, but other than that, this is a terrible idea.

Unless this thread is a request for henchies to not get gold or any other drops (which would be /notsigned (above reason of henchies replacing human players)) I suggest it be moved to Q&A forum.
